With the school year ending, I wanted to reflect on my learning experiences and challenges. One of the transformative learning experiences that I got from this course was to never adopt from a puppy mill or irresponsible breeder. I come from a dog-loving family and oftentimes times we go to the shelter when in search of a new dog. I never realized the number of irresponsible breeders and puppy mills that exist in this world. With this knowledge, I plan to encourage other people in my family to avoid irresponsible breeders and adopt from our local shelters instead. Being able to spread this information on TwitterX was also helpful in persuading others to do the same. Another transformative learning skill I got from this course was researching using various media websites and scholarly sites. This skill will be beneficial throughout my career and I liked how we got the opportunity to use various websites to help build our projects. This helped because it enhanced my knowledge of where to look for articles related to the problem and what kind of researchers have extended knowledge in the study area.

Regarding my problem areas in the course, something that I struggled with was my writing. While utilizing the connect practice session, I realized that one of the main problems in my writing was using too many filler words. As a result, Im more aware of the filler words and will be more cautious when writing essays. Another issue I came across was my timing. This was seen mostly for the assignments due on Sunday. I sometimes would save all of them for the day instead of spreading them out throughout the weekend. The few times I did this I felt overwhelmed but still managed to get everything in on time. This is a habit that I need to fix so that I avoid stressing myself out. From now on I will be more cautious of my writing choices in my future classes and make sure to organize my assignments so that I won't be too overwhelmed the day of.

Overall, this course was beneficial to my writing and research course. I loved that we got to choose what we wanted to write about regarding our chosen animal. I will further use these skills in my future courses to become an effective writer.

Thank you for keeping up with my research journey!
