Week 8- Twitter Tuesday

Another week another Twitter Tuesday! For this week's Twitter Tuesday I utilized Canva to create an infographic about shelter dogs. To help me build this graphic, the website Reasons to Adopt a Pet provided me with the information needed for the infographic. This website explores the benefits of adoption from shelters and not from a shop or breeder. It provides info on why dogs from the shelter are better pets than those from shops or puppy mills due to financial reasons and for the dogs own well being. It also talks about the potential risks of buying dogs from other people and not from shelters. It helps emphasize that adopting from shelters will ultimately save more lives as many dogs are getting euthanized because these shelters are overfilling. 

Regarding TwitterX, I posted several images about issues related to this issue specifically on shelter dogs and puppy mills. The one that stood out to me the most was the picture post about the puppy mills. The article https://saveapetusa.org/pet-resources/what-are-puppy-mills/ explores the inhumane conditions these dogs are put through as people are selling them for a profit and not for their health. These dogs are being overbred and not receiving the proper care needed in order to live. As a result, dogs develop several health problems and people continue to make profit from them. Overall, this week's research emphasized the different facts and conditions that dogs are put through. As a result, it's important that we continue to adopt from shelters and not places like puppy mills.
