So far with this course, my experience with Twitter has been extremely beneficial in connecting with my classmates and other researchers as well as learning about a vast majority of different topics about canines. Specifically, some of the accounts that stood out to me were @DogCognitionSE and @DoUBelieveInDog. From these accounts, I've learned so much about cognition in dogs and how they overall benefit human health.
For this week, I decided to tweet about dogs sniffing out COVID-19 in people, how dog therapy is beneficial to our health, and lastly about the risks of breeding certain dogs. I found these topics to be the most interesting to me and overall, significant to conducting my research on canines. Specifically, something that stood out to me was the article about dogs sniffing out COVID-19 better than PCR tests (Link to article). I was unaware of the intelligence of a dog and was fascinated by the fact that they can even detect COVID-19 in asymptomatic people. This may potentially be a topic that I would like to research more about since it sparked my interest.
Regarding my classmate's tweets, It was interesting to learn about a vast majority of topics about foxes and dogs. Specifically, one of my classmates tweeted about an anti-aging drug for dogs and I found this to be so fascinating since there could potentially be a way to increase your dog's life. Overall, I loved learning about a variety of topics from my classmates and found everything to be super interesting!
The article about dogs sniffing out COVID-19 was so fascinating to me too!! It's beyond crazy to sit back and see how smart dogs truly are. Do you think other animals can do these sorts of things too?
