New week new Twitter Tuesday! This week for Twitter Tuesday, I first began by following more researchers who study various topics surrounding dogs. I am particularly interested in learning about cognition-related topics in dogs. An account that I followed this week that stood out to me was @KubinyiEniko. Eniko is a professor at the University of Budapest. Her main research is the study of cognitive aging in dogs in human environments. She is also the founder of a canine and tissue bank as well as the senior family dog project. These two research groups dive deeper into the cognitive aging in dogs. Another account that stood out to me was @loyalfordogs which is an account and organization trying to develop drugs that will help dogs live longer. This organization aims to treat the most common underlying disease that appears in dogs in order to help them live longer healthier lives. I believe that these accounts would be useful in my research since both aim to help dogs live a healthier longer lifestyle which is something that interests me. While exploring my classmate's findings on Twitter, an article that stood out to me from one of my classmates was Why domesticated foxes are genetically fascinating (and terrible pets) which was posted by @Ucdanimals. I never knew that fox domestication was a thing at one point and it was interesting to learn about how they exhibited similar behaviors to dogs.

Regarding my own Twitter account, this week I found an article about Canine PTSD and decided to post about it. The article brings awareness to how dog PTSD is a thing and is developed usually in dogs who go through life-threatening situations. The article delves deeper into how we can help these dogs by utilizing therapeutic services like selective serotonin reuptake blockers and adrenergic blockers.

This week, I also began to comment on some of my classmate's blog posts. One of the posts that stood out to me was from Juliana Granillo who talked about in her week 3 blog about some of the accounts she followed such as dog_cognition. I found it fascinating that she is interested in the parallels between animals and humans which is why she is interested in cognitive abilities. This is an area of research that I am fascinated by as well.

Overall, I narrowed down my research study by focusing more on dogs! I am excited to continue to learn more and post about my research. Don't forget to follow my Twitter @gin_giselle for more updates!
